CELPIP is the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program . It is an English language proficiency test, which is recognized by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residential status and citizenship in Canada.
Canadian English Language proficiency index program test measures the candidate’s ability in English communication skills in everyday situations like the interaction with friends, communication with co-workers in the workplace, writing and responding in English and different day-to-day examples. The test is a computer-based examination. The test takers use a computer and mouse for reading and writing sub-tests. While for the listening and speaking sub-tests, a computer microphone and headset is used.
The test is divided into two versions such as the CELPIP general test and the CELPIP general LS test. The total test time given for the General test is about 3 hours. While for the CELPIP general LS test is about 1 hour 10 minutes.
The CELPIP general test has 4 sub-tests like listening, reading, writing and speaking. It is accepted by the IRCC as a proof of English proficiency of the candidate, who wants to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The organizations, which includes the Real Estate Council of British Columbia and Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council also accepted the scores of the general test. This test is to assess the English communication skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking.
The CELPIP general LS test is divided into two sub-tests like listening and speaking. It is accepted by the IRCC as a proof of the English proficiency of the candidate, who wants to apply for the Canada citizenship. This test is to assess the candidate’s communication skills in listening and speaking.
The test is completely computer-based test.
Candidates from India can now take the test in Chandigarh test center.
