The Academic module is designed for the candidates who want to acquire a higher education ( undergraduate or postgraduation ) and also for those who want to go abroad for professional purpose and immigration. There are 4 sections conducted in the academic module. They are listening, reading, speaking, and writing. All the candidates must complete these 4 tests to obtain the IELTS test report form. The listening, reading and writing tests must be completed in one day. The speaking test should be completed within 7 days before or after completion of other 3 tests.
IELTS Academic Reading
The IELTS academic reading test consists of long texts. The long texts include essays, diagrams, graphs or illustrations. The long texts are based on the general topics based on their interest and are appropriate to assess the candidate’s higher education courses or for professional registration. This test is used to analyze the reading skills, English fluency ideas of the candidate.
IELTS Academic Listening
The IELTS academic listening test is conducted approximately for 30 minutes. This test is used to judge the listening skills. The IELTS examiner asks the candidate to answer the questions on the related conversation or a particular topic given.
In the IELTS academic writing module, the candidates are asked to explain, describe or summarize the information to the questions based on the graphical representation of data, tabular forms, pie charts, or diagrams. And also the candidate should write an essay in response to a point of view or problem.
IELTS Academic Speaking
IELTS Academic speaking test includes the introduction of the candidate, explanation on a particular topic and two-way conversation. The IELTS examiner asks the candidate to elaborate on the particular topic for 1-2 minutes. This test is used to analyze the candidate’s english fluency, grammatical range, accuracy and pronunciation. According to the test pattern of IELTS 2018, the speaking test is conducted through a real-life conversation with a real person to test the English communication skills. These responses are recorded and later evaluated by the certified IELTS examiner.
After completion of all the 4 modules, the academic result is reported as pass or fail in the report form. The academic test is conducted in such a way that it reflects all the skill sets including listening, reading, writing and speaking of the candidate who wants to go for higher studies or work abroad. The academic test scores are accepted by over 10,000 organizations worldwide including schools, colleges, universities, immigration authorities etc.
